Pride Gets You Nowhere

Relationships, jobs and wonderful opportunities are oftentimes missed because someone was too proud to ask, too proud to apologize or too proud to say “I need help.”

Pride is an intangible thing only valuable to its owner.  At one time or another, we have all been slaves to our pride.  Think back on the last time you chose to act on pride rather than doing what you should have done.  Do you now regret it?  Do you wish it had gone differently?

In the future, say you’re sorry, wear the dunce cap, it’s ok.  If you have to sacrifice one argument for the sake of just making it ok again with you and your significant other, DO IT.  Do you value your pride over your relationship?

If you have to ask someone for help with a job, ask!  It’s better you succeed with some help than you fail because you couldnt handle it alone.

Just today, I picked up the phone swallowed my pride and asked for help- it was a minor thing, but it took all I had to ask.  The person on the other end was fine with helping me.  It’s funny how we complicate the simplest things…. or is that just me?

This week, swallow your pride and really work on asking for help if you need it.  It’ll help you grow as a person and will really calm your spirit.

Have a great week, everyone.

  1. On the flip side, it can feel great to the other person to be asked for help.

I just want to acknowledge that you are the first person to follow my blog. That’s kind of special. Thank you.
